Accessibility statement
Last updated 30 September 2026
We want every teacher, pupil and family to be able to use the Virtual Skipping League, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, larger text or high contrast. This statement covers vsl.org.uk.
What we've done
- The site works on phones, tablets, computers and classroom whiteboards, and you can zoom the page to 200% without losing content.
- Pages use proper headings, labelled form boxes and text descriptions for images, so screen readers can read them.
- You can reach every link, button and form using a keyboard.
- Animations stop if your device is set to reduce motion.
- We check text colours so they are easy to read against their backgrounds.
- The skipping timer shows every spoken instruction as a caption on screen, as well as saying it out loud.
What we know still needs work
- Printable certificates and reports are designed for paper and may not read well with a screen reader. If you need one in another format, email us.
- Some charts in the teacher area use colour to tell PE and playground scores apart. The same figures are also listed in the tables and score lists beside them.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we keep testing the site as we add features.
Tell us about a problem
If anything on the site is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, email support@vsl.org.uk. Tell us the page and what went wrong. We'll reply within 5 working days.
