A free skipping league that runs every half term, from each school's own playground. Results are live, there's no travel and no spreadsheets, and the numbers are ready for your termly return and School Games Mark verification.
Skipping isn't one of the School Games sport formats yet, so the Virtual Skipping League gives your schools a ready-made one. It covers three levels.
Every pupil has a 30-second personal best to improve on, round after round. It works for the children who never make the school team.
Classes compete in their year group, and teachers can set class battles. Each one carries an official School Games intent.
Set a time-boxed challenge for every school in your area: best class average, most improved or most active. You decide whether it counts as one of your inter-school competitions.

When you verify a school's application, open its Mark evidence in your SGO view to see what it has already recorded in the league.
School Games Mark 2026/27: schools apply from 28 April to 30 July 2027, and SGOs verify by 17 September 2027.
Not just free to sign up. Everything in the Virtual Skipping League is free for every school, including the five new events as they arrive. No subscriptions and no paid upgrades.
Short videos, free to watch: getting started as an SGO, setting up a school, and adding scores.
When the new PE and School Sport Partnerships Network takes over from the PE and sport premium, nothing changes here. There's no licence and no subscription, and nothing for your schools to budget for.
Pick your area, see which schools are already in the league, and invite the rest. The league is brand new, so in most areas you'll be starting from scratch – the SGO guide takes you through it step by step. Questions? Email support@vsl.org.uk.
